Boston on a Whim

So my husband was so sweet to ask people to entertain me while he was on a work trip to Boston... unfortunately as it turned out I wasn't around to need entertaining.

Thursday night Dallas and I went out to eat with Christy and Zach and went shopping for new shoes before he took off on his redeye flight to Boston. (I needed to get new tennis shoes for work since the ones I have, got stained with Iodine at the hospital. It isn't really that big of a deal except that iodine on shoes looks a little like pooh :( I am too picky but fortunately found some shoes that were okay at a shoe store called DSW by the Chandler mall. (I officially love this store. They allow you to bring back shoes up to 30 days even if they scuffed and worn. This is awesome for me because I have this tendency to buy shoes too big for me, then I get stuck with them) Anyway I digress...

On our way home to pick up Dallas's things for his trip, we started speculating about how much fun it would be if I went to Boston with Dallas. So we got home and decided to just check online to see how much tickets would cost, and if there were any seats left on the flight. Well, there were tickets left but the ticket was pretty pricey. But Dallas was just so excited that I was even thinking about going, that he bought the ticket and I somehow ended up on an airplane half an hour later (very quick packing)

It ended up being tons of fun!! Dallas's company had him staying at the Marriot and we were lucky enough to get a king size bed with tons of pillows and a puffy comforter that was so fun to just hang out in. We also got plenty of money for food each day so we ate whatever we wanted for free!! The only bummer part was that Dallas had to work on Friday and Saturday until about 4:00 so we didn't get to do much sight seeing. We did a lot of riding around Boston in the rental car (also paid for) and did a lot of getting lost. (I found out I have a better sense of direction than Dallas when we get out of the valley where he grew up.) Here is some of the pictures of things that we did get to see... or that we just thought was cool!!

I'm SO JEALOUS! That must have been so much fun! Totally worth it right Natalie! Man I miss going on Science Care trips. They were super fun even when Dallas and I got to go on labs together. I can't imagine how much fun they would be if I got to bring my hubby along! Super fun!

How fun! We want to go back east someday, but what a fun adventure to do it spur of the moment. Hope everything else is going well with you guys!
